My husband wrote a children's book! His first career was as a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox. He developed a love for horse racing in 2021 when a friend shared stories of their horses, including a Kentucky Derby-winning horse. Chris was hooked immediately. He wrote this story in dedication to his first horse who was a long shot in her debut race. Chris will be partnering with the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, a nonprofit that saves thoroughbred horses no longer able to compete. A percent of the profits will go toward the foundation. This was such an inspiring read "The Long Shot" really captures the emotional weight behind taking risks and chasing goals that feel just out of reach.
