My husband wrote a children's book! His first career was as a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox. He developed a love for horse racing in 2021 when a friend shared stories of their horses, including a Kentucky Derby-winning horse. Chris was hooked immediately. He wrote this story in dedication to his first horse who was a long shot in her debut race. Chris will be partnering with the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, a nonprofit that saves thoroughbred horses no longer able to compete. A percent of the profits will go toward the foundation.
