Women's Equality Day

Sarah French

Today marks a historic day for women's rights — 100 years since the women's suffrage movement achieved victory as the 19th Amendment officially became part of the constitution. It extended the right to vote to white American women. Black women did not receive full voting rights until 1964. Today - August 26th - is known as Women’s Equality Day. I decided to call up my 101-year-old grandmother to get her take on it. Here’s part of our phone conversation.
