Fighting for Women with Fashion
October is domestic violence awareness month. I was so honored to emcee the Fighting for Women with Fashion event, benefiting the Victim Assistance/Legal Representation Program of Safe Alliance -- which helps victims of domestic violence obtain protective orders in court. I shared my story about my dear friend, Alice, who was killed by her husband. It’s the reason I’m so passionate about raising awareness. Click here to find out more about Alice's story.
▪️ 1 in 3 women will be impacted by sexual assault or domestic violence during their lifetime. ▪️ In 2016, there were 66 domestic violence related deaths in North Carolina. ▪️ CMPD responded to more than 36,000 domestic violence related calls last year. ▪️ They accompanied 100 sexual assault victims to local hospitals. ▪️ The Clyde and Ethel Dickson Domestic Violence Shelter served over 800 adults and children.
I’m pictured below with my husband. The models were outfitted tonight by Dillard's, and I’m just obsessed with this new Antonio Melani dress & Kendra Scott jewelry! Again, the event was all the benefit Safe Alliance and all the incredible work they are doing in our community.
